Step by step process images for how to make the kielbasa pasta recipe.

STEP ONE – In a large dutch oven over medium-high heat, add one tablespoon of avocado oil and cook the sliced kielbasa sausage until lightly browned.

STEP TWO – Add the onions and bell peppers. Saute for 2-3 minutes just until they begin to soften. Then add garlic and saute for about 1 minute until fragrant.

STEP THREE – Add Chicken Broth, diced tomatoes, heavy cream, seasonings, and the uncooked pasta to the dutch oven. Stir to combine and ensure the pasta is mostly submerged in sauce. You can add an additional 1/2 cup of broth if more liquid is needed.

STEP FOUR – Bring the pot to boil, and then reduce the heat to simmer.Simmer For About 12-16 minutes, or until the pasta reaches desired texture. Different noodles will require different cooking times. Make sure to stir often to make sure the pasta doesnā€™t stick to the bottom of the pot and that it cooks evenly.

STEP FIVE – Once the pasta is cooked, remove the pot from the heat. Add Shredded cheese and fold together using a wooden spoon, until fully melted and combined.

STEP SIX – Garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired.

Sandra’s Top Tips

  • Use a good quality smoked kielbasa like Hillshire Farm for the best flavor
  • I prefer to shred my own cheese that provides the best cheese flavour and quality not full of unwanted filler like the pre-shredded cheese from the grocery store
  • Use freshly graded parmesan cheese sprinkled on top for a vibrant flavor addition

Storage and reheating instructions

Store leftovers using an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheat in a microwave safe dish using 30 second intervals in the microwave until heated through. Or in a pan over a medium heat stovetop, stirring occasionally until heated through.
