Mummy Jalapeno Poppers With Crescent Roll Wrapping โ€“ Perfect Halloween Appetizer

Perfect for Halloween party snacks or spooky finger foods, these bite-sized mummies are easy to make and a total crowd-pleaser. Serve them warm for gooey cheese-filled bites that double as easy finger foods for a party.

Ingredients You’ll Need

Ingredients for jalapeno popper mumies on kitchen counter.

10 large jalapeรฑos (about 1 lb), sliced in half lengthwise and deseeded

6 pieces bacon, cooked and crumbled

8 oz whipped cream cheese

8 oz shredded Colby jack cheese

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

8 oz tube crescent dough sheet

20 edible candy eyeballs

Substitutions & Variations

Use full fat cream cheese instead of whipped cream cheese. You will need to soften it at room temperature so it mixes easier.

Other shredded cheese of choice will work such as cheddar, mozzarella, monterey jack, or fiesta mix.

Bacon is options – you can make it with or without bacon.

You can use puff pastry instead of crescent dough roll.

You can add parsley or green onions in the cream cheese mixture.

Step By Step Instructions

STEP ONE – Preheat oven to 360ยฐF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.

STEP TWO – Cook the bacon and crumble into smaller pieces. Let cool.

STEP THREE – Half the jalapeรฑos lengthwise and remove the seeds. Place onto the prepared baking sheet and set aside.

STEP FOUR – In a medium mixing bowl, combine the whipped cream cheese, shredded cheese, cooked bacon, garlic, and cayenne.

STEP FIVE – Fill each of the jalapeรฑo halves with about 2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture. Place onto the prepared baking sheet.

STEP SIX – Unroll the crescent dough sheet on a clean surface and use a pizza cutter or sharp knife to cut the dough into thin 1/3 inch strips.

STEP SEVEN – Wrap 1-2 strips around each filled jalapeรฑo, leaving a little open space to place the eyes later. Place the wrapped peppers back onto the prepared baking sheet and repeat making the rest of the mummies.

STEP EIGHT – Bake at 360ยฐF for 16-20 minutes, or until the dough has puffed up and is golden brown.

STEP NINE – Attach the eyes where the gap is. It should stick to the cream cheese mixture.

Storage & Reheating Instructions

Refrigerate leftovers in a sealed container for 3 or 4 days.

Reheat in the oven at 360ยฐF for 6-8 minutes or until heated through.
