Easy Jalapeno Poppers with Cream Cheese & Bacon – Crispy, Cheesy, and Spicy Appetizer

With just a few simple ingredients, these baked jalapeño poppers come together quickly and disappear even faster. The creamy filling pairs perfectly with the slight kick from the peppers while the cornflake topping adds an irresistible crunch. Serve them warm and watch them vanish in minutes.

Ingredients You’ll Need

14 Large Jalapeno Peppers

8 oz Cream Cheese

1 Cup Sharp Cheddar, freshly grated

1 Cup Mozzarella, freshly grated

4 Green Onions, chopped

4 Cloves Garlic, minced

6 Slices Bacon, cooked and chopped

1 teaspoon Salt

½ teaspoon Black Pepper

2 Cups Cornflakes, crushed

½ Cup Butter, salted, melted

What can I use instead of cornflakes on top?  Try crushed Ritz crackers, panko, fried onions.

How to Make Jalapeno Poppers In The Oven

STEP ONE – Preheat the oven to 400°F.

STEP TWO – Wearing gloves, cut each jalapeno pepper in half lengthways, then using a spoon scoop out the seeds and membranes of the pepper.

STEP THREE – Arrange the Jalapeno shells on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

STEP FOUR – In a large bowl add the cream cheese, cheddar, mozzarella, green onions, garlic, bacon, salt and pepper and mix well with a spoon.

STEP FIVE -Fill each Jalapeno half with this cheese filling.

STEP SIX – Add the cornflakes to a large resealable bag and crush with a rolling pin.

STEP SEVEN – Add the cornflake crumbs to a large bowl and add the melted butter. Stir well until completely combined.

STEP EIGHT – Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes, or until bubbly.

Storage Instructions

Once the jalapeno poppers have cooled completely they will need to be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
