  • Cake mix – you can use a box of yellow cake mix or vanilla cake mix. Both are equally delicious! You can even use strawberry cake mix.
  • Strawberry pie filling – or you can substitute strawberry-rhubarb pie filling. You can also use homemade strawberry pie filling.
  • Cream cheese – you can use a block of cream cheese or whipped cream cheese. Some recipes have powdered sugar whipped into the cream cheese, however we felt that it was plenty sweet enough without it during testing.

  1. I made this dump cake multiple times, and it is wonderful. It tast so good. Even when I bake it for events, everyone goes back for seconds. I used a yellow cake mix with the strawberry cream cheese, but golden butter is much better. I have even used blueberry, apple, and blackberry pie filling instead of strawberry. Apple pie is my favorite!!! Cherry and pineapple is another good combination my family enjoys.

  2. I would still like to know in instructions number3 what are we suppose to do with the cherry pie filling it calls for.
