Step by Step Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray or grease with a light layer of butter.
Open both cans of cherry pie filling and spread out in the bottom of greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Smooth out evenly.
Sprinkle chocolate cake mix on top of the cherry pie filling. I like to use clean hands and sprinkle it from the package.
Melt butter and pour evenly over top of cake mix. Don't worry if a few patches of dry cake mix are poking through. They will get covered up during baking.
Bake in 350°F oven for 50 to 55 minutes. Remove and cool on wire cooling rack.

How to Store Dump Cake
