Cake mix and butter mixed coarse crumbs in mixing bowl.

Step 1 – Preheat oven to 350°F. This recipe is so quick and easy to make that by the time you’re oven is preheated, you should have the dump cake ready to go into the oven!

Step 2 – Spray the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. I like to use the one that’s formulated for baking, but you can use any type or brand. If you don’t have baking spray, you can give the baking dish a light grease with butter.

Step 3 – Spread both cans of cherry pie filling into the bottom of the prepared cake pan and spread out evenly in the bottom of the pan with a spoon or spatula.

Step 4 – In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter with the dry cake mix. Mix with clean hands or use a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Crumbled butter mixture is sprinkled on top of pie filling in baking dish.
