How To Make Oreo Spiders

Step by step images for how to make Oreo spiders.

STEP ONE – Line a large baking tray with parchment paper and set aside. Depending on how many Oreos spiders you make, you may need more baking trays.

STEP TWO – Cut the Pocky sticks for the legs.
I sliced the exposed pretzel piece off and then cut the Pocky in half.

STEP THREE – Separate the Oreo cookies.

STEP FOUR – In a microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate until smooth. Microwave on a low or defrost setting in 30-second increments and stir it every time you check.

STEP FIVE – Add 4 Pocky pieces for the legs on each side.

STEP SIX – Add a little chocolate to the middle of the cookies, to help hold the legs in place and secure the top cookie.

STEP SEVEN – Then top with another separated Oreo piece.

STEP EIGHT – Spread a small spoonful of melted chocolate evenly on top of the Oreo spider.

STEP NINE – Place two candy eyes, or three, or more on the lower half center of the top cookie. Repeat with the remaining Oreos.

STEP TEN – Allow to set completely before serving. To speed up the process, you can refrigerate for 15-30 minutes until the chocolate is set.

Use any flavor Oreo cookie you like! Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Pumpkin Spice, you name it.

Regular, Double Stuf, and Mega Stuf varieties will all work. I find that Double Stuf has the perfect amount of cream filling to hold the legs in place if you wanted to skip adding the chocolate in the center.

Instead of using melted chocolate to help everything stick together, you may also use a little frosting!

Instead of using Pocky for the spider legs, you can use plain pretzel sticks, or chocolate covered pretzel sticks, black licorice sticks, or even red licorice sticks.

Instead of dark chocolate melting wafers, you can melt semi-sweet chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips, or use a different color melting wafer if desired.

These candy eyeballs were found at my local Walmart in the baking aisle but you can also find these at Target, Albertsons, Safeway, Smith’s, Joann’s, or an online retailer like Amazon.

If you want to use different sized eyeballs then Amazon would be a good place to find more variety.
