Canned baked beans with ground beef
These beans are sooooo good that no one will ever know they are not homemade beans. I won’t tell if you don’t!!
You can make them on the stovetop as a one pot-dish, in the oven or crockpot. We also love them over a summer campfire for a cowboy style camping cookout that everyone loves!!
It does not get much easier than enhancing cans of baked beans with ground beef and bacon, as well as the perfect seasonings.
Brown sugar, bbq sauce and sweet honey help to give them an added boost of sweet and tangy depth of flavors.

Ingredients
- Ground Beef – 1 pound
- Bacon – 2.5 ounces of precooked bacon cut into pieces or cook up your own bacon. I sometimes prefer to use the precooked bacon for convenience with less mess to clean
- Cans of Pork and Beans – 3 (15 ounce) cans of beans, I like to use Bush baked beans but use your favorite beans or what is on sale to save money
- Onion – yellow cooking onion chopped
- Ketchup
- Barbecue sauce – use your favorite
- Brown Sugar
- Honey
- White Vinegar
- Yellow Mustard
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Black Pepper
Substitution & Variations: Use your preferred seasonings like cayenne pepper to make spicy baked beans with ground beef. You can also add in hot dogs or sausages with the hamburger meat. In place of the beef you can use chicken, pork, turkey or Italian sausages.
