Easy Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings | Slow Cooker Appetizer
Juicy, flavorful, and totally hands-off, these lemon pepper wings are perfect for game day or any party. Just set it and forget it, then enjoy the crispy, zesty finger food everyone will reach for first!

Ingredients You’ll Need

4 pounds chicken wings, fresh or thawed
2 large lemons, juiced
2 tablespoons lemon zest
4 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
Lemon pepper seasoning, to add when basting
Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish
Step by Step Instructions

STEP ONE – Place wings into the slow cooker pot.

STEP TWO – Top the wings with the lemon juice, zest, butter, salt, pepper, and paprika.
STEP THREE – Cover with lid and cook fresh/thawed wings on LOW for 4-5 hours (or HIGH for 2-3 hours), until the chicken is fully cooked, tender, and has reached an internal temp of 165 F.

STEP FOUR – Once cooked, preheat the oven broiler and line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil. Spray with cooking spray or lightly grease with butter to help prevent sticking.
STEP FIVE – Place the chicken onto the prepared baking sheet and baste with the leftover lemon pepper sauce from the slow cooker. Sprinkle some lemon pepper seasoning on both sides of the wings. Broil for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until desired crispiness is reached.
STEP SIX – Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon slices. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce like ranch or a lemon aioli. Enjoy!

Storage Instructions
Allow to cool before covering. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days.

Notes
Recipe Notes:
If cooking chicken from frozen, cook on HIGH to reduce the time the chicken is in the danger zone (40 F to 140 F). Slow cookers take awhile to get to a safe temp so you’ll want to speed it up to avoid a food safety risk.
You can use larger wings and drumsticks if desired however the cooking times may vary. Cook through until the internal temperature reaches 165 F.
If using fresh or thawed chicken, cook on LOW for the most tender meat.
