Honey garlic chicken and rice

We often enjoy honey garlic chicken on a bed of plain rice or cilantro lime rice with my Chinese chicken salad for a quick weeknight dinner.

The chicken honey garlic sauce is so good with honey, fresh garlic and soy sauce it can also be used in other recipes like honey garlic chicken breasts or chicken wings.

I love this recipe as it is easy to serve and eat cut into small pieces and perfect for leftovers on a salad or a wrap for a meal planning lunch or dinner the next day.

Sandra’s Tips

  • Cut the chicken into uniform bite sized pieces for the best even cooking
  • Do not overlook your chicken for the best juicy chicken and it does not become tough and dry
  • Garnish with green onion and sesame seeds for added texture, flavor and freshness
  • For a make ahead dinner you can prepare the chicken and let it marinate in the fridge overnight and cook when ready
  • Best served fresh and hot from the skillet so cook when you are ready to serve
