Ingredients
- Bone-in Spiral Ham – pre-cooked bone-in spiral ham
- Pineapple Slices – 1 can of pineapple slices with the juice
- Brown Sugar
I love that this ham looks fantastic and is ready to put on the holiday table without much fuss after it is cooked.
Variations: You can add some maraschino cherries with the pineapple rings for a festive holiday presentation that many enjoy at Thanksgiving or Christmas. At Easter I like to serve it with my pea salad with bacon and moist sweet cornbread.
How To Make Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham
STEP ONE – Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
STEP TWO – Remove the packaging from the pre-cooked ham and place it in a oven safe casserole dish.
STEP THREE – Open the can of pineapple slices and place the slices between the slices of ham. Then pour the juice from the can over it.
STEP FOUR – Rub the brown sugar evenly over the pineapple slices and ham. You can adjust the amount of brown sugar based on your sweetness preference.
STEP FIVE – Cover the ham with aluminum foil and let it cook for 1.5 hours in the oven. The cooking time may vary depending on the size of the ham. You want the ham to heat through and the flavors to meld.
STEP SIX – Check the ham periodically. You can baste it with the juices that collect in the dish to ensure it stays moist and flavorful.
Handy tip!
If your ham came with a glaze package, you could mix this with a few tablespoons of the pineapple juice, mix it and glaze the ham with it.
STEP SEVEN – Slice the ham and serve it with the pineapple slices.
Storage Instructions
Store by wrapping up with plastic wrap and foil or using an airtight container in the fridge for 3 to 4 days.
You can freeze the ham using a freezer-safe container for 1 to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before serving.
