- Perfect for fall gatherings: This easy 9×13 dessert is made for fall potlucks, family dinners, Thanksgiving or using up freshly picked apples from the orchard.
Ingredients You’ll Need

- 6 cups chopped and sliced apples
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 Yellow Cake Mix (15.25 ounces)
- 1/2 cup pecans, coarsely chopped
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
Step by Step Instructions

I like to use a combination of apples for all of my apple crisps and cobblers. For this recipe, I used Honey Crisp and Granny Smith apples. Delicious combination!
STEP ONE – Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray for baking.
STEP TWO – Peel and core the apples, then slice and dice them. I like to vary the sizes of the chunks and add some slices for a nice texture.
STEP THREE – In a large mixing bowl, toss the apples with ground cinnamon and brown sugar.
STEP FOUR – Spread apple mixture in the bottom of prepared baking dish.

STEP FIVE – In a separate large mixing bowl, use a pastry cutter (or you can use clean hands) to combine the cake mix and melted butter.
STEP SIX – The mixture should be crumbly and will clump together nicely together in small chunks. Sprinkle mixture on top of the apple layer.

STEP SEVEN – Sprinkle pecans on top of cake mix layer.
STEP EIGHT – Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes. The edges will be bubbly and the top will be a light golden brown.

STEP NINE – Transfer to wire cooling rack and cool for a few minutes before serving.
STEP TEN – Serve with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a lovely fall dessert!
Storage Instructions
