How To Make Caramel Apple Bites

Step by step process images for how to make caramel apple pretzel bites.

STEP ONE – Preheat the oven to 275°F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

STEP TWO – Lay the pretzel snaps out onto the tray in a single layer, spacing them out about 1-inch apart.

STEP THREE – Top each pretzel with an unwrapped caramel square.

STEP FOUR – Transfer the tray into the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, until the caramels are soft. The caramels will expand but don’t over bake it to where it is fully melted and spills out over the entire pretzel.

STEP FIVE – While the pretzels and caramels are in the oven, core and cut the apples into 1-inch cubes and soak in lemon juice or salt water to help prevent it from browning.

STEP SIX – Drain the water out and then pat the apples dry with a paper towel.

STEP SEVEN – Remove the caramel pretzels from the oven and immediately top each one with an apple piece, gently pressing them down into the caramel so it sticks.

STEP EIGHT – Microwave the semisweet chocolate chips or melting wafers in a microwave safe piping bag on a low or defrost setting until smooth. Massage the bag at each interval to ensure even heating.

STEP NINE – Cut a small piece of the tip of the bag and then drizzle over the caramel pretzels.

STEP TEN – Immediately sprinkle chopped peanuts all over the bites. You can transfer the prepared bites onto a clean parchment paper before the chocolate sets OR you can let the chocolate set and then break the excess pieces off. Allow to cool completely before serving. Enjoy!
