Crockpot Baked Ziti

This easy Crockpot Baked Ziti recipe is a perfect way to make this effortless, comfort food classic that’s always a family favorite for dinner! Once you’ve seasoned the Italian sausage, this set-it-and-forget-it pasta dinner is perfect for gatherings or busy weeknights.

Slow Cooker Baked Ziti With Sausage

I love how crockpot does all the work, slowly melding the flavors of the pasta sauce, with ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Italian sausage and pasta.

It’s such a convenient way to enjoy a delicious, rich pasta dinner to feed a crowd with minimal effort!

Enjoy it with my cheese stuffed garlic bread or my delicious beer bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Penne (or Ziti) Pasta
  • 1 lb. ground Italian Sausage
  • 1/2 yellow Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of Garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons. Italian seasoning
  • 48 ounces Pasta Sauce
  • 15 ounces Ricotta Cheese
  • 2 cups shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • Fresh chopped Parsley for an optional topping

How To Make Crockpot Baked Ziti

Step One – In a large skillet, brown the Italian sausage. Just before it is finished, add the onion, garlic, and Italian seasoning, and cook 2-3 minutes more.

Ricotta cheese and shredded cheese is added to to the ziti in crockpot.

Step Two – To your crockpot, add the sausage mixture, dry pasta, ricotta cheese, and 1 3/4 cups of the mozzarella cheese (reserve 1/4 for topping).

Step Three – Pour over the pasta sauce.

Step Four – Mix well to combine all of the ingredients.

Step Five – Cook on low for 3-4 hours, until noodles are al dente.

Step Six – Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese over top and let cook until the cheese is melted. Enjoy!

Storage And Reheating Instructions

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 2 to 3 days.

Reheat on a microwave-safe dish in the microwave with 30 second intervals until warmed through.
