Easy Watergate Salad With Pistachios
Watergate salad is a deliciously sweet and creamy cool whip dessert with a nice balance of textures, from the crunch of pistachios to the softness of marshmallows and the tangy pineapple.
The vibrant green color from the pistachio pudding gives Watergate Salad its eye-catching appearance, beautifully complemented by the bright cherries on top.
It’s perfect for serving at potlucks, barbecues, or a family tradition for serving at gatherings like Mother’s Day or the holidays, especially because of its refreshing and indulgent flavors.
Ingredients
- 1 (8 oz.) container of Cool Whip
- 1 (20 oz) can of Crushed Pineapple (reserve all juice)
- 2 cups of Mini Marshmallows
- 1 (3.4 oz) box of Pistachio Pudding Mix
- ¼ cup of Pistachios (crushed)
- 1 (10 oz.) jar of Maraschino Cherries (cut in half)
How To Make Watergate Salad
Step One – Start by placing your cool whip, crushed pineapple, and marshmallows into a large mixing bowl.
Step Two – Take your reserved pineapple juice (about ½ a cup), add water if needed, and mix with your pudding mix. Place in the fridge for 10 minutes.
Step Three – Add your pudding mixture to your cool whip mixture and mix until very well combined.
Step Four – Transfer to a serving dish and top with pistachios and cherries. You can add additional marshmallows if desired.
