  • Spice Cake Mix – we like to use Betty Crocker or you can use any of your favorite brand.

Step by Step Instructions for making easy apple spice dump cake recipe

STEP ONE – Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

STEP TWO – Next, spread apple filling in an even layer in the prepared baking pan. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just smooth it out as much as possible.

STEP THREE – Open the cake mix and sprinkle the dry cake mix over top of the apple mixture.

Melted butter and pecans are added on top of the spice cake mix in white baking dish.

STEP FOUR – Pour the melted butter over the dry cake mix. Lift up the baking dish and carefully tilt it back and forth to spread out the melted butter. Don’t worry if there are a few patches of dry cake mix still showing, these will cook during the baking time.

STEP FIVE – Sprinkle with chopped pecans.

STEP SIX – Bake in 350°F oven for 50 to 55 minutes. The pie filling should be bubbling over at the edges.

STEP SEVEN – Cool for a few minutes, then serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. A drizzle of caramel sauce is also a nice touch if you like things sweet!

How to make crockpot apple spice dump cake

  • Start by using a non stick cooking spray to quickly spray your crockpot
  • Then place the apple pie filling in the slow cooker evenly as possible
  • Spread the the cake mix over the apple filling
  • Next the butter, you can either pour the melted butter on top or use in pieces or spoonfuls, to spread all over the cake mix (I prefer to pour the melted butter over the cake mix as in my step by step pictures above)
  • Put the pecans on top covering evenly
  • You are really repeating the same steps as making this recipe in the oven besides spraying the slow cooker with non stick cooking spray
  • Place the lid on and cook on high for 1/2 to 2 hours
  • Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream

  • 1 box (15.25 ounces) Spice Cake Mix
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 & 1/2 cups pecans
• 1 box Spice cake mix
• 1 1/2 cups Pecans
 
 

Instructions
