Avocado Guacamole Recipe
I love this authentic guacamole recipe that adds to more flavor on my favorite Mexican recipes like nachos, taco salad, grilled meats and easy taco casseroles.
There is nothing like enjoying fresh creamy guacamole as it compliments and balances the savory, spicy flavors of tacos, or burritos.
Whip up a batch of this easy avocado guacamole recipe as a dip to feed a crowd at parties or for an extra creamy texture on your favorite plate of nachos with cheese.
Ingredients
- Avocados – fresh avacados
- Lime
- Cilantro
- Salt
How To Make Guacomole Dip
STEP ONE – Juice the lime.
STEP TWO – Using a fork or potato masher, mash the avocado to your desired consistencyโsmooth or chunky.
STEP THREE – Add the chopped red onion, minced garlic, diced tomatoes, and chopped jalapeรฑo (if using) to the bowl.
STEP FOUR – Stir in the lime juice, salt, and black pepper.
STEP FIVE – Optionally, stir in fresh chopped cilantro for added flavor.
STEP SIX – Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Serve immediately with tortilla chips, or as a topping for tacos, nachos, or any dish you like.
Storage Instructions
To store guacamole in the fridge, transfer it to an airtight container and smooth the surface to remove air pockets. Press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the guacamole or add a thin layer of lime juice or water on top to prevent browning. Seal the container tightly and refrigerate. It should stay fresh for 1-2 days, and when you’re ready to use it, pour off any excess liquid and stir before serving.

1–2 tomatoes
1 jalapeรฑo (optional, for heat)
1 lime
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
