1-2 cloves fresh garlic

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

2 tbsp fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Juice the lime.
  2. Using a fork or potato masher, mash the avocado to your desired consistency—smooth or chunky.
  3. Add the chopped red onion, minced garlic, diced tomatoes, and chopped jalapeño (if using) to the bowl.
  4. Stir in the lime juice, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Optionally, stir in fresh chopped cilantro for added flavor.Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.Serve immediately with tortilla chips, or as a topping for tacos, nachos, or any dish you like.

Notes

Storage instructions: To store guacamole in the fridge, transfer it to an airtight container and smooth the surface to remove air pockets. Press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the guacamole or add a thin layer of lime juice or water on top to prevent browning. Seal the container tightly and refrigerate. It should stay fresh for 1-2 days, and when you’re ready to use it, pour off any excess liquid and stir before serving.
