You can find a full recipe card at the bottom of this post with an ingredients list and step by step instructions. I've added a few visual photos below, with instructions to guide you along. This is one of the easiest desserts that you will ever make!
Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray, or grease lightly with butter.
Preheat oven to 350°F.
This is so quick and easy! Add 2 cups blueberries to the prepared baking dish.
Sprinkle the dry cake mix over top of the blueberries. You do not need to add anything to the cake mix. Try and sprinkle it as evenly as possible, however perfection is not required!
Next, melt the butter and drizzle melted butter evenly over top of the dry cake mix. Don't worry if there are a few small dry patches of cake mix. They will disappear during the baking process. Do not stir the mixture!!
Lastly, sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup of blueberries on top .
Bake in 350°F preheat oven for 45 to 50 minutes. Top will be light golden brown and the blueberry filling might bubble up at the sides.
Serve blueberry dump cake plain or serve with with vanilla ice cream. A dollop of whipped cream or a sprinkle of powdered sugar is also delicious.
Storage Instructions
Store cooled leftover cake in a airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, or cover baking dish with plastic wrap.

It is called a dump cake because you simply dump the ingredients into the baking dish without having to mix any of the ingredients.
The main difference is that a dump cake uses boxed cake mix and can be made in a cobbler-style and a traditional cobbler is made with traditional baking ingredients.
A dump cake will last three to four days in the refrigerator.

Our family loves this lemon bueberry dump cake. I sometimes switch things up and use blueberry pie filling instead of the fresh blueberries. You can use any pie filling!
