Ingredients & Substitutions

  • 12 wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup shredded chicken
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2/3 cup cheddar cheese, shredded (divided, setting aside 2 Tablespoons)
  • 1/2 cup bacon bits (bacon pieces), (divided, setting aside 2 teaspoons)
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 oz packet ranching seasoning
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Step By Step Instructions

Wonton wrappers pressed into a muffin tin.

STEP ONE – Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray muffin tins with cooking spray.

STEP TWO – Place a wonton wrapper in each of the prepared muffin cup. Gently press down and to the sides to form a cup.
STEP THREE – Bake in 350°F oven for 8 minutes.

STEP FOUR – Meanwhile, in a large bowl, mix chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, sour cream, bacon and ranch dressing mix. Stir to combine.

Chicken mixture is added to the wonton cups in muffin tins.

STEP FIVE – Divide the mixture evenly among the wonton cups. 

Wonton cups are topped with remaiing shredded cheese and baon bits.

STEP SIX – Sprinkle with extra cheddar cheese and bacon. 
STEP SEVEN – Bake at 350°F for 7 seven minutes. Wontons corners will be golden brown.

STEP EIGHT – Remove from oven and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley. ENJOY!

Storage Instructions

Store cooled wonton cups in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a few days.

How to Store Leftovers

Store the jalapeno wonton poppers tightly wrapped in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. 

The cooked appetizers can also be frozen. Wrap the fully cooled wonton cups carefully in Press & Seal or plastic wrap, place in a freezer bag, and freeze for up to 2 months.

If you’ve never had a wonton cup appetizer, they’re crispy and have just the right amount of crunch. Pair them with any of your favorite appetizers for game day too!


Ingredients

12 wonton wrappers

1 cup shredded chicken

4 ounces cream cheese, softened

2/3 cup cheddar cheese, shredded (divided, setting aside 2 Tablespoons)

1/2 cup bacon bits (bacon pieces), (divided, setting aside 2 teaspoons)

1/3 cup sour cream

1 oz packet ranching seasoning

Fresh parsley for garnish

Cooking spray


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. 
  2. Spray muffin tins with cooking spray.  
  3. Add a wonton wrapper to each of the 12 muffin tins. Gently press down and to the sides to form a cup.
  4. Bake in 350°F oven for 8 minutes. 
  5. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, add the chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, sour cream, bacon and ranch seasoning. Stir to combine.
  6. Divide the mixture evenly among the wonton cups. 
  7. Sprinkle with extra cheddar cheese and bacon. 
  8. Bake at 350°F for 7 seven minutes.
  9. Remove from oven and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley.

Notes

Storage instructions: Store cooled wonton cups in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a few days. 

Freezing instructions: Place the cooled small bites in an airtight container for up to two months. To reheat, thaw overnight then follow instructions for how to reheat wonton cups. 

Reheating instructions: Reheat refrigerated wonton cup appetizers in a 350 degree F oven for about 10 minutes, or until heated through to the center, or in the air fryer at 325°F for 7 to 10 minutes.
