- Hot Water – 5 cups
- Sugar – white sugar
- Yeast – instant yeast for simple easy bread recipe
- Salt – sea salt, I love using a good quality sea salt that adds to the best flavor of the bread
- Vegetable Oil – you can also use shortening
- All Purpose Flour
How to make homemade white bread
STEP ONE – Prepare 4 loaf pans with a thin layer of cold butter on the bottoms and sides of four 8×4- inch or 9×5-inch loaf pans or spray with cooking spray.
STEP TWO – In a large bowl mix warm water with sugar and yeast. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes or until frothy.
STEP THRE E- Add salt, vegetable oil, and 6 cups of flour. Mix with a handheld mixer on medium- low speed for five minutes.
STEP FOUR – Add 6 more cups of flour and mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon.
STEP FIVE – Leaving the spoon in the bowl, cover the dough with a glass plate or plastic wrap until the dough has doubled in size.
STEP SIX – Mix the dough down and let it rest for 10 minutes. Repeat this step four times.
STEP SEVEN – Place dough on an oiled countertop. Divide it into four equal pieces and shape it into smooth balls.
STEP EIGHT – Press dough with your hands or use a rolling pin to form dough into a rectangle about 8 wide and 12 inches long.
STEP NINE – Roll up the dough from the short and tuck the seam side down. Place the roll into the prepared bread pan and rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
STEP TEN – Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 30-45 minutes.

- Make sure you use warm water to activate the yeast properly
- Using a fresh good quality all purpose flour will make a difference in the taste of the bread
- Preheat your oven to the right temperature helps to ensure the bread rises properly and develops a nice crust
