1.5 lbs lean ground beef (85/15)
½ large onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
⅓ cup secret sauce or burger sauce
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon garlic powder
8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
12 count King’s Hawaiian dinner rolls
12 slices cheddar cheese, divided
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon dijon mustard
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 ½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
Sesame seeds, for topping the buns
Step By Step Instructions

STEP ONE – Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
STEP TWO – In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté the ground beef with onions and garlic until beef is browned and no longer pink. Use a spatula to break the meat apart. Drain any excess grease.
STEP THREE – In a large bowl, combine the browned beef, secret sauce, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder. Mix and then set aside.
STEP FOUR – In the same skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Crumble into smaller pieces and set aside.

STEP FIVE – Use a bread knife to slice the buns in half horizontally across then place the bottom buns onto the prepared baking sheet.

STEP SIX – Add 6 slices of cheddar cheese in an even layer, top it with the ground beef mixture, add the remaining 6 slices of cheese on top, then spread the bacon in an even layer over the cheese. Place the top buns back on.

STEP SEVEN – In a small bowl, add the butter, dijon mustard, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Microwave for 10 seconds, just until melted. Stir to combine.
STEP EIGHT – Brush the butter mixture evenly on top of the buns. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
STEP NINE – Tent with foil and bake for 15-20 minutes. Remove the foil and then bake for an additional 5 minutes if needed to toast the buns.

STEP TEN – Serve as is or with optional add-ins like pickles, red onions, tomatoes, and shredded lettuce.
