  • 15 oz can Pumpkin Puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 3โ„4 cup apple juice
  • 2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1โ„2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

How to Make Pumpkin Butter From Scratch

STEP ONE – In a medium sauce pan of medium high heat, place all of the ingredients and stir to combine.

STEP TWO – Bring the mixture to a boil and reduce heat.
STEP THREE – Allow to simmer for 30 minutes or until the mixture has thickened.
STEP FOUR – Place is mason jars and store in the refrigerator.

Handy tip

You need pumpkin puree in this recipe and NOT pumpkin pie filling. Double-check the can before starting the recipe.

Storage & Freezing Instructions

Store cooled pumpkin butter in mason jars or plastic storage containers in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Place leftover pumpkin butter in an airtight container and freeze for up to 6 months. ย Thaw completely before serving.
