My Top Tips For Making This Recipe
- Use similar-sized chicken breasts. This helps them cook at roughly the same rate.
- Don’t prepare the stuffing mix. Sprinkle it straight from the box over the casserole and do not stir.
- Check the chicken for doneness. Slow cookers vary, so use a meat thermometer to make sure the thickest part reaches 165°F.
- Let it rest. Give the casserole about 10 minutes before serving to allow the sauce to settle.

Notes
Ingredients Notes:
Half-and-half: Milk can be substituted, although the sauce won’t be quite as rich.
Swiss cheese: Baby Swiss has a milder flavor, but regular Swiss works too.
Stuffing mix: Add it dry directly from the box. Do not prepare it according to the package directions.
Storage Instructions:
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat individual portions in the microwave or larger portions covered in the oven until heated through.
