Description
This creamy, cheesy Stovetop White Cheddar Mac & Cheese recipe is a simple side dish or main course that will on the table in 25 minutes! The easy homemade cheese sauce will have everyone coming back for seconds!
Ingredients
3 cups dry Small Shell Pasta
1/4 cup Butter
3 tablespoons Flour
1/2 teaspoon Mustard Powder
Salt & Black Pepper, to taste
1 3/4 cups Milk
2 cups Extra Sharp White Cheddar Cheese, freshly shredded
4 ounces White American Cheese (about 6 slices)
Instructions
- Start by boiling water for the pasta and adding the pasta in when boiling, cook for 7-9 minutes or until al dente.
- While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter on medium to low heat, then whisk in the flour and spices to start the roux.
- Add the milk slowly, while continuing to whisk, the mixture should stay slightly thick the entire time.
- Then add the cheeses until they are melted and turn to low heat.
- Strain the pasta and add into the cheese mixture. Stir until all pasta is covered with the cheese sauce.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Store leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Reheat in the microwave, or on the stove, until thoroughly warm.
