Description
This red, white, and blue fruit salad is the perfect way to celebrate summer! Bursting with sweet, juicy fruit, it’s a refreshing and colorful dish for the 4th of July, Memorial Day, or any sunny picnic with family. Serve it chilled and watch it disappear—everyone’s going to love it!
Ingredients
1 apple, sliced and cut into star shapes
1 lb strawberries, quartered
1 lb blueberries
Instructions
- Rinse strawberires and cut into quarters. Place in large mixing bowl.
- Rinse the blueberries and add to the bowl with the strawberries. Toss gently to mix.
- Wash the apple and cut into slices. Use a small star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out stars from the apple slices.
- Add the apples to the bowl with the other fruit. Toss gently to mix being careful not to crush the fruit.
- Chill, then serve & enjoy!
Notes
Preparing in advance? To keep the apples from browning, prepare a lemon water bath by combining 1 tablespoon of lemon juice with 1 cup of water in a large shallow bowl. Set it aside and dip the apple slices in as you prep the salad.
