Description
These easy Puff Pastry Apple Roses look impressive but take just 15 minutes to prep! Made with fresh apples, flaky puff pastry and cinnamon sugar, they’re a beautiful fall dessert that’s surprisingly easy to make.
Ingredients
1 box (2 sheets) of Pepperidge Farms puff pastry sheets
3 red apples (I used Fuji apples)
1/2 lemon, juice
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp cinnamon powder
2 tbsp butter
Powdered sugar, optional
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a muffin tray with nonstick cooking spray.
- Wash the apples, cut them in half lengthwise, and remove the cores.
- Place the apples cut-side down and slice them thinly widthwise.
- Add the thinly sliced apples to a bowl and toss with the juice of half a lemon.
- Add 1–2 teaspoons of sugar and a small pinch of cinnamon to the apples. Toss until well combined. Set aside the remaining sugar and cinnamon.
- Melt the butter and brush it over one side of each puff pastry sheet.
- Combine the remaining sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle the mixture evenly over the buttered side of the puff pastry.
- Cut each puff pastry sheet into six even strips.
- Arrange a few apple slices along each strip of puff pastry, then fold the pastry over so the apple slices are tucked between the layers.
- Gently roll the apple and pastry strip into a rose shape and place it in the prepared muffin tray. Repeat with the remaining pastry and apples until all 12 roses are assembled.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow the apple roses to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
