Description
A delicious mix for old-fashioned Gingerbread Squares that is perfect for gift-giving. Recipe yields enough for 2 batches of squares. Two more ingredients are added to the mix to make the squares.
Ingredients
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tbsp. coriander
1 tbsp. ground ginger
1 tbsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients together and mix well until thoroughly combined.
2. Divide mixture into two bags, each with 2 and 1/2 cups of mix. Seal bag.
Mix can be stored at room temperature for up to three months.
Notes
Storage:
Store the gingerbread squares in an airtight container for 3 to 4 days or in the fridge for 7 days.
Wrap with plastic wrap and freeze for 2 to 3 months. Thaw and warm before serving.
