Football Cupcakes

Description

These Football Cupcakes are the ultimate game-day treat, combining moist, delicious cake with festive decorations to celebrate your favorite sport. You could customize these with your team colors cupcake liners.


Ingredients

13.25 oz box Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix (or chocolate cake recipe of your choice, plus ingredients to make)

1 cup water

1 cup vegetable oil

3 eggs

2 cups chocolate frosting

½ cup white frosting


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, and prepare the cake mix according to directions.
  2. Line a cupcake pan with liners (we used brown), and fill each one about half way.
  3. Bake for 14-18 minutes, or until done.
  4. Remove from the oven, and allow to cool completely for 1-2 hours.
  5. Add chocolate frosting and 1M frosting tip to a pastry bag, and pipe the frosting in a back and forth motion, to resemble a football.
  6. Next add the white frosting and a small round frosting tip to a pastry bag and pipe the “laces” onto the cupcakes.

Notes

Storage and freezing instructions:

Store football cupcakes in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 to 3 days.

Freeze in a single layer in a freezer-safe dish for 3 months.

Thaw at room temperature before serving.
