Description

This Easy Homemade Honey Butter in a jar recipe adds a wonderful sweetness and creamy depth of flavor to anything you use it with. The savory rich taste of the butter balances the natural sweet floral notes of the honey perfectly to spread smoothly on toast or cornbread. It is also a terrific sauce or glaze for vegetables or meat like chicken, hamburgers and the Thanksgiving turkey.

Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature

1/2 cup honey

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

Ground cinnamon, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl using a handheld mixer, beat the butter until smooth.

Add the honey, vanilla extract, and salt. Beat for an additional 1-2 minutes until well combined.

Transfer to a serving bowl and drizzle a little extra honey and garnish with ground cinnamon if desired. Serve with cornbread, toast, scones, English muffins, or even pancakes. Enjoy!

Notes

Storage instructions:

Store honey butter in an airtight container or in a mason jar with the lid on in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

To spread it more easily take it out of the fridge 10 to 15 minutes before serving.

Freeze using a freezer-safe container or wrapped in plastic then a freezer-bag for up to 3 months.

Thaw overnight in the fridge before using.

It is best to consume honey butter at room temperature within 2 to 3 days to avoid it spoiling especially with warm kitchen temperatures.
