Description

This cute Christmas Rolo Pretzels Sandwiches recipe is a perfect combination of sweet, salty and crunchy for an irresistible holiday party snack. Salty pretzels are sandwiched between a delicious Rolo candy and decorated with chocolate and sprinkles for a fun festive flair.

Ingredients

80 pretzel snaps (or mini twists or waffle round varieties)

40 milk chocolate Rolos

10 ounce bag Ghirardelli white vanilla melting wafers

1/4 cup Christmas sprinkles mix

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250° F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Place 40 pretzel snaps onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Then top each pretzel with an unwrapped Rolo. Transfer to the oven and bake for 3-4 minutes, until the Rolos have softened but are not fully melted.
  3. Remove from the oven and top each Rolo with another pretzel snap. Gently push it down to flatten the Rolo and make a sandwich. Don’t flatten it too much so that the Rolo will spill out from the sides. Transfer the tray to the refrigerator and chill for about 20 minutes, until the chocolate hardens back up.
  4. Melt the candy wafers in a bowl in the microwave on a low or defrost setting in 30 second increments, until smooth. Stir at each interval for even heating.
  5. Remove the chilled Rolo pretzel sandwiches from the refrigerator and dip each of the sandwiches halfway into the melted vanilla wafers. Gently shake off any excess coating and then place the sandwich back onto the prepared baking sheet and immediately top with the sprinkles. (Because the sandwiches were chilled, the coating will set quickly so work fast.)
  6. Repeat coating and decorating the remaining sandwiches and then transfer the tray back into the refrigerator to chill for an additional 10-20 minutes, just until the outer coating completely sets. Serve and enjoy!
