Description

These Chocolate Covered Caramel Apple Slices are a fun twist on classic caramel apples! Crisp Granny Smith apple slices are dipped in rich chocolate, drizzled with creamy caramel, and sprinkled with crunchy pecans for an easy fall treat that’s perfect for parties, Halloween, or after-school snacks. They’re simple to make, easier to eat than whole caramel apples, and always disappear fast.

Ingredients

3 large Granny Smith apples

10 oz milk chocolate melting wafers

3/4 cup caramel baking bits

1 tbsp heavy cream

1/2-3/4 cup white chocolate melting wafers

1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the very ends off each apple, then slice  each side just to the core. You’ll have two ½-¾ inch apple slices per apple.
  3. Insert a popsicle stick into the bottom center (use a knife to help make a hole if needed) and push it about halfway through.
  4. Pat both sides of the apples dry.
  5. Melt the chocolate, then dip the apples, using a spoon to help if needed. Allow excess chocolate to drip off, then set on parchment paper. Do not allow the apples to touch.
  6. Chill for 5-10 minutes to allow the chocolate to set.
  7. Add the caramel and heavy cream to a microwave safe bowl and heat in 30 second intervals, stirring well between each heating session, until fully melted. Allow to cool slightly, then drizzle over the apple slices.
  8. Melt the white chocolate, then drizzle over the caramel and immediately sprinkle pecans before the chocolate can set.
  9. Chill for 10 minutes, then enjoy!
