Description

This wonderful Carmelized Onion Dip is an easy dip recipe for one of the best party appetizers that pairs well with so many foods. Boasting a rich, slightly sweet flavor and a creamy texture it is a crowd-pleasing dip with potato chips, veggies, bread and crackers for any gatherings!

Ingredients

2 yellow onions

4 oz cream cheese

1/2 cup sour cream

1/4 cup mayonnaise

3 tbsp unsalted butter

1 tbsp chives, sliced

1/4 tsp salt, or to taste

1/4 tsp black pepper, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Start by peeling and thinly slicing your onions.
  2. On medium-high heat melt the butter and add the sliced onions. Stir occasionally. Lower the heat when they start to brown. Then cook some more on medium-low heat. This process can take about 20-25 minutes.
  3. In a food processor, add the cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, and season with salt and pepper, and process until smooth.
  4. Once your onions are caramelized, let them cool off for 5 minutes, and then add to the dip in the processor and pulse for just a second to mix the onions in.
  5. Serve with chips
