Description

Say hello to our favorite party snack! Crispy air fryer buffalo cauliflower, made with lightly coated cauliflower florets, hot sauce and honey. Cauliflower bites make a great appetizer or side dish. Enjoy them with a creamy dip such as blue cheese or ranch dressing and a few crispy carrot or celery sticks on the side. You’d better make a double batch – they’re that delicious!!

Ingredients

1 large head cauliflower, cut into florets

2 Tablespoons butter, melted

1 Tablespoon olive oil, plus 1 teaspoon for coating bottom of air fryer

3/4 cup buffalo sauce (we used Frank's Red Hot)

2 teaspoons honey

1/4 cup all purpose flour

1/4 cup cornstarch

1/2 teaspoon salt

Dressing or favorite sauce for dipping (we use ranch or blue cheese dressing)

Parsley for garnish

Optional

carrots and celery stick

Instructions

  1. Rinse cauliflower. Remove the core and stem and cut into small florets. Place in large bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, melt butter in microwave-safe bowl in ten second intervals until melted.
  3. To the melted butter, stir in olive oil buffalo sauce and honey.  Stir until well combined. Set aside.
  4. Pour over cauliflower florets and mix gently until completely covered. I found it easier to mix with clean hands.
  5. In a separate small bowl, whisk together all purpose flour, cornstarch and salt.
  6. Sprinkle flour mixture over the cauliflower.  Using a sieve or sifter gives a nice thin coating and is less clumpy.
  7. Brush bottom of air fryer baskset with 1 teaspoon of olive oil.
  8. Spread cauliflower in air fryer basket in a single layer.  Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to air fry cook  two batches. There can be a little overlap but space is required for the air to circulate and the cauliflower bites to get nice and crispy.
  9. Preheat air fryer to 375°F
  10. Cook for 15 minutes, shaking three times throughout the cooking.

Notes

Storage: Cool cauliflower bites completely, then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days.

Freezing:  For longer storage, place leftovers in an airtight container and freeze for up to 3 months.
