Description
Say hello to our favorite party snack! Crispy air fryer buffalo cauliflower, made with lightly coated cauliflower florets, hot sauce and honey. Cauliflower bites make a great appetizer or side dish. Enjoy them with a creamy dip such as blue cheese or ranch dressing and a few crispy carrot or celery sticks on the side. You’d better make a double batch – they’re that delicious!!
Ingredients
1 large head cauliflower, cut into florets
2 Tablespoons butter, melted
1 Tablespoon olive oil, plus 1 teaspoon for coating bottom of air fryer
3/4 cup buffalo sauce (we used Frank's Red Hot)
2 teaspoons honey
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
Dressing or favorite sauce for dipping (we use ranch or blue cheese dressing)
Parsley for garnish
Optional
carrots and celery stick
Instructions
- Rinse cauliflower. Remove the core and stem and cut into small florets. Place in large bowl.
- In a small bowl, melt butter in microwave-safe bowl in ten second intervals until melted.
- To the melted butter, stir in olive oil buffalo sauce and honey. Stir until well combined. Set aside.
- Pour over cauliflower florets and mix gently until completely covered. I found it easier to mix with clean hands.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together all purpose flour, cornstarch and salt.
- Sprinkle flour mixture over the cauliflower. Using a sieve or sifter gives a nice thin coating and is less clumpy.
- Brush bottom of air fryer baskset with 1 teaspoon of olive oil.
- Spread cauliflower in air fryer basket in a single layer. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to air fry cook two batches. There can be a little overlap but space is required for the air to circulate and the cauliflower bites to get nice and crispy.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F
- Cook for 15 minutes, shaking three times throughout the cooking.
Notes
Storage: Cool cauliflower bites completely, then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days.
Freezing: For longer storage, place leftovers in an airtight container and freeze for up to 3 months.
