Description

This Oven Roasted Turkey Tenderloin recipe is easy to prepare and roast, incredibly juicy and perfect for an intimate Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner for four. The turkey is made with fresh herbs, that infuse the meat with incredible taste. Tenderloin is a fantastic choice for a special holiday meal thats great to serve up leftovers in my amazing leftover turkey casserole!

Ingredients

2 (1.5 pound) turkey tenderloins

1 tablespoon fresh thyme, minced (or 1/3 teaspoon dried)

1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, minced (or 1/3 teaspoon dried)

1 tablespoon fresh sage, minced (or 1/3 teaspoon dried)

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon avocado oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the herbs and seasonings.
  3. Pat tenderloins dry with paper towels. Season all over with the herb mixture.
  4. Heat a cast iron skillet (or oven proof skillet) on the stove top on medium-high heat. Add olive oil to the pan. Once hot, sear the tenderloins for about 2-3 minutes on each side (including the edges), until browned.
  5. Transfer the oven-safe skillet into the preheated oven and bake for 20-23 minutes (I baked mine for 22 mins), or until the internal temperature reaches 160 F (the temperature will continue to rise as it rests and should reach 165 F). Allow to rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing into strips. This is to allow the juices to reabsorb into the meat.
  6. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

Storage Instructions: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.

Note: Baking times will vary depending on various factors such as different ovens and also different thickness of the tenderloins. I recommend using a meat thermometer to properly gauge the desired doneness. Bake until it reaches 160 F inserted at the thickest part of the meat. The temperature will continue to rise as it rests.
