Jalapeno Popper Cheese Ball

Description

This Jalapeno Popper Cheese Ball is packed with yummy flavors like bacon, spicy jalapenos, sharp cheddar, and creamy cheese. It’s a must-have for your holiday get-togethers, so you’ll be all set with a delicious appetizer! Add it to your game day menu too!


Ingredients

16 oz. cream cheese, softened at room temperature

3 tablespoons sour cream

1/2 teaspoon. garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

3 jalapenos, seeds and ribs removed, diced, divided

8 slices of bacon, cooked, chopped, divided

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup green onions, sliced

1/2 cup pecans, finely chopped


Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, smooth out the cream cheese to soften.
  2. Add the sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, 2/3 of the diced jalapeno, half the chopped bacon, and about 2/3 of the shredded cheese.
  3. Fold together until well combined.
  4. Lay out a piece of plastic wrap, and shape the cheese mixture into a ball.
  5. Place on the plastic wrap, and wrap the cheeseball.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator 4 hours, or overnight.
  7. Place the remaining jalapeno, bacon, cheese, green onions, and pecans, in the refrigerator, covered, until ready to use.
  8. Before serving, on a plate, mix together the jalapeno, bacon, cheese, green onions, and pecans.
  9. Roll the cheeseball in this mixture, until the whole surface is covered.
  10. Serve with your favorite crackers.

Notes

Wrap any leftover cheese ball in plastic wrap and store in the fridge for 3 to 4 days. Allow it to come to room temperature before serving.
