This decadent Chocolate Mousse Recipe delivers a light but rich, silky smooth chocolate mousse texture and flavor. It makes a special indulgent chocolate dessert for the holiday season.
Ingredients
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream (divided 1/2 cup / 2 cups)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons chocolate bar, grated
- 4 tablespoons chocolate fudge, melted
Instructions
- In a medium-sized bowl add the chocolate chips and ½ cup of heavy whipping cream. Melt in 15-second increments. Stir until the chocolate chips are melted.
- Once the chocolate has melted add the vanilla extract and salt. Mix until fully combined. Set aside.
- In a large bowl add 2 cups heavy whipping cream and the powdered sugar. With a hand mixer mix for 3-6 minutes or until thick peaks have formed.
- Remove ¾ cup of the whipped cream and set aside.
- Add the cooled chocolate to the main bowl of whipped cream.
- With a spatula fold the chocolate into the whipped cream until fully mixed in.
- Transfer the mousse to your serving dishes.
- Top the mousse with the ¾ cup whipped cream.
- Grate chocolate on top.
