DUTCH ALMOND BARS
Cream butter and sugar in large mixing bowl, then stir in almond extract.
In a small bowl, beat one of the eggs. Blend egg into butter mixture for 30 seconds.
In a large bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
Gradually add flour to butter mixture.
Press dough into an 8x8-inch baking dish, pressing down until smooth all over.
In a small bowl, beat the egg and the milk together. Brush over dough with pastry brush.
Sprinkle with sliced almonds.
Bake in 325°F oven for 25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
Cool, then cut into bars and enjoy!
