Beer Nuts

A delightful mix of sweet and salty, these crunchy beer nuts can be made in ten minutes. 


2 cups salted peanuts

2 cup sugar

1/2 cup wter


1. Preheat oven to 325 F

2  In an electric or stovetop frying pan, put sugar and water. Set heat to 300F on electric frying pan or just below high on a stovetop oven. 

2. Add peanuts.

3. Stir constantly.  Between the 6 and 7 minute mark, the sugar and water mixture will start to crystalize.  Keep stirring. It will become drier and coat the peanuts.  The sugar/water combination will be foamy and lighter in colour. This is how you will know the mixture is getting ready to crystallize. 

4.  Spread beer nuts onto a cookie sheet and bake at 325 F oven for 10-15 minutes or until lightly browned.

Store in a covered or glass container for up to two weeks. 


Yes! you can substitute other types of nuts.  Almonds and cashews both turned out great when tested.
