Banana Nutella Muffins


Soft, fluffy and moist with a delicious combination of Nutella and bananas, this quick and easy muffin recipe will win your heart over on the first bake!


1 and 3/4 cups all purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup butter, softened at room temperature

1 and 1/4 cups granulated sugar

2 eggs, room temperature

1/4 cup Greek yogurt (2%)

1 cup mashed bananas (3 to 4 medium bananas)

1/2 cup Nutella


  1. In a large mixing bowl, stir together all-purpose flour, baking soda and salt. 
  2. In a separate mixing bowl, cream together butter, sugar and one egg.  
  3. Beat in second egg. 
  4. Mix in Geek Yogurt and bananas.
  5. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir just to combine.
  6. In a microwave-safe bowl, heat Nutella for 30 seconds.  This will make it more spreadable when you add it to the muffins.
  7. Fill muffin tins 3/4 full with batter, then top with 1 tsp-2 tsp. of Nutella. 
  8. Use a toothpick or wooden skewer to swirl the Nutella through the batter. Optional - top with a fresh banana slice.
  9. Bake in 400°F oven for 20 to 25 minutes. 


When greasing the pan, grease the entire muffin tin as the muffins will puff up nicely and spread onto the top of the tin.  Greasing the tin will make it easier to remove the muffins.


Cool muffins completely and store in a covered container or zippered bag at room temperature. They will remain fresh for a few days. Pop them into the microwave for a few seconds and they will taste like they just came out of the oven.

These muffins freeze well. Cool them completely, then wrap in foil or freezer-safe wrap or place in a zippered bag. Thaw for two hours at room temperature before eating.
